Rather than look at people as having hierarchies of needs (with some more important or pressing than others), BEAP acknowledges that lives, livelihoods and quality of life are equally important. A life simply devoid of problems does not necessarily spell a good life. And a life with problems… even persistent ones… does not necessarily spell an awful life. A life that includes and strives for compassion, friendship, love, concern, dignity, persistence and hope… that ain’t bad!
